Barcelona Market Morning
Three legendary food markets before the city wakes up
Your route
Mercat de la Boqueria
El Raval
La Rambla, 91
08:00–20:30 (Closed Sun)
Local tip: Go before 10:00 to beat the crowds. Skip the front stalls and head deep inside for fair prices and where the locals shop.
El Quim de la Boqueria
El Raval
Mercat de la Boqueria, stall 606
07:00–16:00 (Closed Sun–Mon)
Local tip: Breakfast at the counter — the fried eggs with baby squid (ous amb sípia) are the thing to order.
Mercat de Santa Caterina
El Born
Av. de Francesc Cambó, 16
07:30–15:30 Mon, to 20:00 Tue–Sat (Closed Sun)
Local tip: The wavy technicolour roof is the photo. Quieter and more local than the Boqueria — grab a coffee at the bar inside.
Mercat de Sant Antoni
Sant Antoni
Carrer del Comte d'Urgell, 1
08:00–20:00 (Closed Sun afternoon)
Local tip: A beautifully restored iron market hall. On Sunday mornings the surrounding streets become a book and collectors' market.
